Major projects in 2024-2025

  • Take Home Reading Program

    In 2025, PTA helped the school purchase a take-home reading program to support early readers. These books will come home with K-2 students starting in 2025!

  • Teacher Grants

    In 2024-2025, PTA gave over $11,000 to teachers in the form of classroom grants. Teachers used these grants to purchase equipment for specialized lessons, support after school clubs, and provide extension opportunities for students.

  • Teacher Fundraiser Shares

    With the 2024 Aviator Run, each teacher received 10% of all funds their classes raised to use toward purchasing any supplies their classrooms needed. Teachers used these funds for books, materials, and more!

  • Risers

    In 2025, PTA purchased risers for the Desert Canyons stage. Students have already used them in performances at the end of the year, as well as at Kindergarten graduation. This has helped make students more visible when large groups are performing, as well as give students more room to spread out on the stage. As our school continues to grow, these will be more and more valuable!

  • Sound System

    In 2024-2025, PTA purchased additional microphones for the gym sound system. These include drop mics which can get sound from the rafters above the stage and hands-free headsets that students can wear.

Other projects made possible by DCES PTA

  • Aviator Run

    PTA’s annual Aviator Run is not just a fundraiser, it’s a fun, community-building event for all students and families. It takes many volunteers to make it happen, from planning how the fundraiser will work, to distributing prizes to students and running the stations during the Aviator Run.

  • PTA Reflections

    Each year, PTA supports students in participating in the National PTA Reflections program. Students submit their individual artwork related to each year’s theme in diverse artistic formats, featuring everything from visual arts to dance and music composition.

  • Schoolwide Assemblies

    Working with the school staff, PTA helps bring in and sponsor multiple assemblies during the school year.

  • Getting Families on Campus

    Through events like Grownups & Goodies, PTA strives to create opportunities for families to come on campus and be part of their children’s education. We love seeing all of you at school!

  • Food Drive

    In the winter, PTA sponsors the annual food drive to benefit the Utah Food Bank. In 2025, DCES students gathered 2092 pounds of food to benefit members of our local community.

  • Book Fair

    PTA brings the Book Fair to DCES each year, giving all students and teachers the opportunity to purchase books. Proceeds from these sales support our school by giving teachers free books for their classrooms and giving our PTA funds to purchase more books for our school library.

  • Classroom PE Equipment

    Each year, PTA replenishes each classroom’s PE supplies to ensure all kids have access to safe and usable equipment.

  • Fun Week

    PTA organizes events for Fun Week each May. Many volunteers contribute to making these fun events happen for our students to celebrate the end of the year!

  • Special Moments for Kids

    Our students have the best teachers and school staff who make DCES an amazing school. As a PTA, we are always looking for ways to support school staff in making DCES a place where students love to be.
